Its jagged twin peaks, Batian and Nelion, are for technical climbers, but trekkers can reach Point Lenana at 4,985 metres on a non-technical route.<\/p>\n<h2>Routes to Point Lenana<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sirimon:<\/strong> a gradual ascent through forest and moorland, good for acclimatisation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Chogoria:<\/strong> a spectacular route with deep valleys, tarns and Lake Michaelson, often used for descent.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sirimon to Chogoria:<\/strong> combines both for a scenic traverse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>What to expect<\/h2>\n<p>Nights are cold and altitude is a real factor. A gradual itinerary, a good guide and proper gear matter more than speed. Cooking, camping or hut arrangements are organised for you.<\/p>\n<h2>Best time to climb<\/h2>\n<p>January to February and late August to September are the driest and clearest periods.
